Historically carved only for elderly West African royalty, this walking stick is adorned with local motifs and symbols. A solitary bird rests underneath the handle, symbolizing peace. Daniel Nyadedzor patiently crafts this piece from sese wood, adorns it with aluminum plating, and finishes it with white clay and cream emulsion paint to achieve its antique appearance. Nyadedzor names the walking stick Togbe, or chief, in honor of his rich cultural heritage.
