The historic paintings in Cacaxtla, Tlaxcala inspire Angel Cerón to depict an eagle warrior in ceramic. Believed to channel the courage and might of the eagle, the warrior was highly revered by the Tlaxcalteca people of 600-950 A.D. The sculpture portrays the warrior wearing the eagle's talons on his feet, as well as a headdress that represents the powerful bird.
