Inspired by the sacred nature of maize for Mayan cultures, this area rug depicts a large geometric shape in a variety of colors in the center. With a body of champagne and sunrise-colored borders, the rug is handwoven from 100% wool by the young artisans at Young Weavers of Momostenango, who work together to provide for their families and preserve the ancestral weaving traditions of Guatemala.
