Blooming on an expanses of midnight black, a rose garden stretches alluringly across an exquisite rug by Syed Sajad Hussain. He brings a lifetime of experience to this Kashmiri craft. The motifs are drawn on a handwoven cotton backing, and embroidered by hand in an intricate chain stitch using soft woolen floss. Such rugs often take up to three weeks to complete.
