Walter Kuma carves a magnificent sculpture of the ideal woman, or obaa sima. According to the Akan people of Ghana, an obaa sima is she who cares for her family, cleans the house and keeps everything in order. Kuma's sese wood version of an ideal woman features her pouring water from a clay pot while she takes one hand to wipe her brow. She is a symbol of strength, love and dedication.
