Two faces on a single head look warily in both directions. The vigilant image comes from the Bundu people of Mali where it is interpreted as a traditional mask. Considered extremely powerful, such masks are employed in spiritual and religious ceremonies. Samuel and Francis Agbetey carve this mystical piece from sese wood and add details with jute cords.
