Exuberant sprays of lamduan blossoms intertwine with leaves and swirling vines. The delicate work is sculpted of teakwood; its lacy border is reminiscent of lotus petals. Using only hand tools and his vast imagination, Tay Nontawat carves the piece in three dimensions. The finished sculpture is dried in the sun. Nontawat then adds the color and protects his work with a coat of lacquer. Because each piece is crafted individually, there may be rough areas or slight variations in color from that pictured.
