With long tail feathers arching over their heads, two flirty birds repeat the motifs in Chancay art. This is a seabird – mother and child – taken from ancient ceramic paintings. I liked their simplification and synthesis, and carried the images through a progressive process of abstraction, Marco Floríndez explains. He presents them as a sculpture for wall display.
