I was inspired by the friezes that adorn the Monte Alban pyramid, says Irene Ruiz of this Zapotec cushion cover. Working on a traditional loom with wool that has been tinted with natural dyes, Ruiz weaves a cushion cover of verdant majesty. Colorful glyphs adorn the cover, which features a cotton canvas back with a slit opening.
