The silent witnesses of the world are the earth and rocks. In an indirect way they show us the passing of time through the different veins that keep appearing on their surfaces, says Jaime Barrera as he presents his most recent creation. They also bear witness to the changes that humanity has endured, in particular the Maya culture. For this sculpture, Barrera works with macedonia, a distinct form of limestone, similar to marble and unique to the Yucatan region, home of the Maya people. The sculpture rests on a conchuela rock base. Titled Testigo silencioso in Spanish.
