With great care, Las Trampas Hammock Artisans of Guatemala weave this elegant double hammock on the backstrap loom, elaborating stripes in cyan and mauve. Each hammock is crafted by weaving three separate panels of fabric, then sewing them together to hang from iron hooks on cotton cords. This design is part of an effort to afford a better education for the artisans' children.
