Outside of Tokyo, we rode the rope way (an aerial tram) up an active volcanic area in Owakudani, and journied on a short hike through sulphur fumes that takes you to the steaming pools of water. Local vendors boil eggs that turn inky black from the sulphur and local legend says they add 7 years to your life. After our snack, we took the ropeway down the opposite side of Mount Hakone to Lake Ashinoko, where lake was calm, views beautiful, and where we experienced one of the most peaceful boat rides Ive ever taken. Our Hakone Satchel is one of our more sophisticated shapes to reflect this atmosphere. The multi-functionality of the bag with its top handles and crossbody strap make it easy to carry for a weekend away from Tokyo at this gorgeous town. For every purchase, August will donate a backpack to Operation School Bell. Operation School Bell provides clothing and personal products to underprivileged students in the LA Unified School District. Dimensions: 24L x 14H x 7D (8 shoulder drop & 18 cross body strap)
