This module introduces participants to special-purpose pumps. This class of pumps is comprised of centrifugal and positive-displacement pumps that are built for specific applications. Special-purpose pumps can be metering pumps for precise addition of chemicals to control boiler water chemistry or diaphragm pumps that are used for pumping corrosive fluids such as caustic and acid solutions. This module provides an overview of the different types and uses of special-purpose pumps.
