Ai Apaec, the most revered of Moche deities, wears the sun for a crown in a mask of powerful elegance. Angel Franco is inspired by the divine character known as Lord Decapitator, as well as Lord Creator, whose name actually means He who gets things done. His image usually adorned the breastplates of high-ranking Moche functionaries. They had them throughout their lives and were buried with them. The mask was characterized by slanted eyes and ear muffs. Franco works with galvanized bronze and copper as he creates contrasts of color and texture in the crafting of this mask.
