Ghana's Abdul Salami Amadu creates the original design of this large sese wood mask to showcase the Sankofa Adinkra symbol. Represented by a bird looking backwards, Sankofa encourages to retrieve from the past what one needs to go forward in life. In black and red, the mask is expertly carved by hand by Amadu.
