Regal and beautiful, this elegant mask depicts a person with symmetrical features and a tall headdress. Samuel Okyere transforms native sese wood into an African mask of his own design, painting it by hand with subtle colors and adding rich textures in embossed aluminum. Applications of white clay give the piece an aged, antiqued effect. He names it Ahenfo, or royal in the Twi language of Ghana's Akan people.
