Usually depicted as a young man pierced by arrows, San Sebastian was healed by the widowed Saint Irene. The Roman martyr was clubbed to death in 288 A.D. Livia Manchon depicts the patron saint of Rio de Janeiro on the seashore in her unique style. Sebastian's image is displayed in the church of Our Lady of Glory, and the saint's feast day is celebrated on January 20. Titled São Sebastião in Portuguese.
