Divided into three frames, this handsome painting by Prince Dewodo carries a cautionary message. In the upper portion is an elegant lady. She has traveled a long distance to Abidjan to purchase elephant tusks, used in making ornaments and also to design clothing. She looks good but, in the lower panel, her elegance is fading away. This is because as the information on illegal sale of tusks spreads, her business is declining. Tusks are so precious! That's why they fill the central panel, the artist explains.
