The hillsides at Doi Mae U-Kho are covered with flowers. Stretching as far as the eye can see, the fragrant blossoms bask in the warm mountain air. November and December in Northern Thailand are a time of great beauty, Chirawat confides. This area is known for its sunflower fields. We call them bua tong, or 'golden lotus,' and they turn the landscape a brilliant yellow.
