Liem Hauw crafts these handsome pillow shams from fragrant mendong fibers. The rich texture of the mendong is perfectly complemented by a border of smooth white cotton, and each features a zipper closure. Fiber content 95% mendong, 5% cotton. Cotton pillows filled with soft capok are included. Perhaps God's will led him to his destiny as an artisan, Liem Hauw believes. He works with his wife and several neighbors, crafting textiles from the natural fibers - such as water hyacinth, banana bark, and sea grass - that abound in his native Bali.
