Las Orquideas Weavers is a group of Guatemalan artisans, banding together to craft beautifully woven textiles. With a striped pattern in spring green and emerald against a black body on the front and solid black backs, this pair of pillowcases is woven on a traditional loom from 100% cotton, using jaspe. Jaspe is an ikat technique, in which the threads are tie-dyed before placing them on the loom. This technique is passed down through generations of artisan women.
