Almost identical, a bride and groom are just about to kiss in a pair of mahogany sculptures from Diana Dewi. Each one is lavishly painted by hand, detailing their expressive faces and traditional customs. The Javanese people refer to these figurines as Mimi Lan Mintuno, or female and male horseshoe crabs. They symbolize inseparable true love, just like horseshoe crabs that are always found together – and should one die, pretty soon the other one will too.
