Dressed in traditional Javanese wedding attire, known as basahan, a young bride and groom kneel solemnly. Marriage is a lifelong commitment and they look forward to forming a happy family. Suparta carves and paints the figurines by hand, giving them an aged, antiqued finish. Because every sculpture is individually crafted by hand, the colors or motifs may vary slightly so that each is a unique work of art.
