Anna Yawson designs a fierce-looking crocodile sculpture that is expertly carved by hand and adorned with painted details to achieve an antiqued effect. According to Beninese culture, the crocodile represents the power that the Oba (king) has over life and death. The crocodile is the policeman of the waters, associated with Olokun, god of water and feared for its ferocity.
