An older couple celebrates their love in a pair of mahogany wood statuettes from Java's Diana Dewi. He is known as Den Bagus and she is Den Ayu, and together they are admired as a noble couple. The loving sculptures are painted by hand with admirable detail. Their sarongs are adorned with the truntum or jasmine motif. Developed by Queen Kencana, the florid pattern is reserved for weddings, as it symbolizes unconditional love.
