A typical application for this system is a remote site where no onsite support is available. You can attach the serial ports on the LX 4000 to the console ports on the remote equipment, and plug the power cables into the IR 5250 PDU. In the event of failure, you can reboot the devices via serial port or by turning the power off then on. If the WAN link fails you can dial into the site via MRV LX console server. When paired with an LX 1000 or LX 4000 console server this is a complete lights out solution for remote access to a remote site.
